Funding ensures that our nation’s nursing leaders can continue to access funding that supports research and the hard work toward improving patient safety
BELMONT, Mich., April 14, 2022 – AvaSure, the inventor of the TeleSitter® solution, the market leader in patient safety monitoring and an innovator in virtual nursing, is pleased to continue its commitment to patient safety and nursing leadership with a substantial gift to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research and Education (AONL Foundation).
Totaling $1 million over the next 10 years, this gift ensures that our nation’s nursing leaders can continue to access funding that supports research and the hard work toward improving patient safety.
In a surprise announcement at the annual AONL Foundation Soiree on April 13, AvaSure announced it is donating $500,000 over the next 10 years to support the AONL Foundation’s efforts to enable the next generation of nursing leaders. In addition, AvaSure’s chairman and former CEO, Brad Playford, and his wife Kathleen, through their foundation Reset Ventures, will match the gift.
This will be AvaSure’s third donation to AONL Foundation, following a $100,000 donation that supported the foundation from 2018 through 2022.
“We are thrilled to support AONL’s meaningful research and the work that it takes to continually improve patient safety and advance the practice of nursing,” said Adam McMullin, CEO of AvaSure. “The research, and what we can do with that research, is essential in further developing the safety and best practices in delivering health care to vulnerable patients.”
The announcement was a total surprise to AONL CEO Robyn Begley.
“AvaSure has led the way in helping the AONL Foundation in our goal of becoming self-sustaining,” said Robyn Begley, CEO of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership and president of the AONL Foundation Board. “It’s an incredibly challenging time in health care. This level of support will go a long way for our nurse leaders and our aspiring nursing leaders. On behalf of AONL Foundation, we are grateful to Brad and Kathleen and AvaSure for this amazing gift.”
“Our nurse leaders are critical to the excellent care and safety patients deserve and respect. We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to continue supporting them in an impactful way,” said Brad Playford. “Supporting our nurse leaders, who are always at the forefront of very difficult times in health care, especially over these past two years, is the right thing to do, and Kathleen and I are honored to show our support in this way.”
