Lisbeth Votruba, MSN, RN, PCCN, led the first installment of AvaSys at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s in Grand Rapids, Mich., in 2009. After demonstrating positive outcomes her organization further invested in telesitter FTEs, and an additional 32 units were installed in 2012. In 2009 she took on the role of Magnet program director and successfully led Saint Mary’s to its first Magnet designation in 2013. She has a master’s degree in nursing from Columbia University in New York. Votruba has completed five IRB-approved nursing research projects as the principal investigator. She served on the state board of directors for the American Nurses Association in Michigan.
